4th CIB Conference on Smart and Sustainable Built Environments

Agência FAPESP – A Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), em parceria com a Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Ufes), realizarão, nos dias 27 a 29 de junho, a 4th CIB Conference on Smart and Sustainable Built Environments – SASBE2012.
O objetivo da conferência internacional, realizada a cada três anos e pela primeira vez no Brasil, é discutir sobre o conceito e práticas de construção sustentável.
A programação do evento será composta por workshops, visitas técnicas e palestras, que serão proferidas por especialistas do Brasil e do exterior.
“Urbanismo sustentável”, “Pegada ecológica e desenvolvimento humano” e “Energia eficiente” são alguns assuntos que serão discutidos durante o encontro.
O evento será realizado no auditório da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (FAU) da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), situada na R. do Lago, nº 876, na Cidade Universitária, em São Paulo (SP).

SASBE2012 - Smart and Sustainable Built Environments:
Emerging economies
SASBE2012 is the fourth edition of this global conference, being the previous editions organized in Australia (2003), China (2006) and The Netherlands (2009). At global level, organization is hosted by CIB (International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction) Work Comission 116, which shares the conference name. The Brazilian edition is a collaboration between UNICAMP and UFES, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vanessa Gomes (UNICAMP, CIB, iiSBE) and will be held between June 28th - 29th, 2012. Side activities will be held on June 27th and 30th, including workshops and technical tour, according to availability and demand. Please visit regularly to follow program evolution up.
SASBE2012 takes on the batten from previous events and moves forward from sustainable development theories to professional practice with tangible outcomes, particularly in emerging economies contexts. In the past decade, strong efforts in developing countries have focused on leveling the playing field, on envisioning a more sustainable future, and on exploring management and innovation for sustainable building. SASBE2012 also takes in the challenge of helping to instrument such transition. The official language for the conference is English. A post-conference book will include invited contributions. The Smart and Sustainable Built Environment (SASBE) journal, to be published by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, will be launched during the conference. Revised versions of SASBE2012 best papers will be encouraged for publication in special numbers of the SASBE Journal and other partner vehicles in 2012.
